Notes for Duncan Adams:
Future generations may find Duncan difficult to locate. He was registered as 'David Adams', but was christened 'Duncan'. All subsequent legal transactions have been as 'Duncan Adams' (driving licence, passport, marriage certificate, etc).
Until his marriage, Duncan lived in Prestwich, North Manchester, then he moved with Celia to Withington, South Manchester. In 1970, they moved to Rawtenstall (where Duncan's new business was located). In 1990, they moved to North Wales.
Until 1970 he worked as a Senior Laboratory Technician (Bacteriology - FRSH, AIBMS) with the Public Health Laboratory Service (Manchester). He was co-opted by the County Emergency Planning Officer as a Home Office Scientific Advisor for Nuclear, Chemical and Biological Warfare and trained accordingly by the Home Office. He retained this position until the organisation was disbanded, a few years after glasnost, in 1995.
From 1970 to 1986 he created, and was chairman of a successful company of Private Investigators and Bailiffs. In 1986 he decided to retire, and he and Celia purchased a woodland (Hafod Wood, 60 acres) near to Henllan, North Wales, where they moved so they could 'work the wood' and practice conservation. He then became bored and qualified as an accountant (AFA), but soon became bored again and passed the firm on to Ian Lance Adams, who also qualified.
After this, he tried to retire again, but dabbled in internet auctions and the such-like.
He currently (2002) lives with Celia and two dogs at 15 School Street, Henllan, Denbighshire, LL16 5BA. He is (2002) a local councillor, and runs the local Neighbourhood Watch, having been the North Wales representative to the National Association. He is an active freemason.

Until she met Duncan, Celia had always lived in Rawtenstall, Lancashire. Celia, Like Duncan, was a Medical Laboratory Technician, which was how they met. She assisted Duncan in his business until around 1980, when she and her sister (Glynis Birchall, nee Evans) opened a Royal Doulton Giftware shop, which she continued to run until they moved to live in Wales. Now (2002) she is a very full-time housewife, Star Trek Collector and family tree researcher (2002).
